Friday Announcements

CLUBS
HOSA

There will be a brief HOSA meeting for all students attending district competition this Monday, October 30th at 7:30 am in 520E.   


FFA FOOD DRIVE
The FFA Food Drive ends today. The 4th period class that collects the most cans will receive Krispy Kreme donuts!

DECA  
Staff and Students...see a DECA member TODAY to order your yummy cheesecake sampler, Lemon Pound Cake or cookie dough. LOTS of flavors to choose from. Talk to a DECA member TODAY to order YOURS!
DECA members -please get your order form and money turned in by this afternoon or before school on Monday morning.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Elizabeth Lowe will be collecting donations to support St. Judes Children's Hospital at tonight's football game. Please look for her holding a St. Judes Poster at the main gate if you would like to make a donation.

SPORTS
BASKETBALL
The mens basketball team will have tryouts starting on October 30th.  All juniors and seniors will start at 3:30.  All freshman and sophomores will start at 4:45.  Please remember, you must have a physical turned in to Coach Christopherson before you are allowed to tryout.

CHEERLEADING
Basketball cheer tryouts will be held Monday, October 30th. You will need a valid physical and signed concussion form before you may participate.  Meet in the lobby of A building at 3:30 on Monday, October 30th. (10-26)

SWIM TEAM
Anyone interested in joining the swim team who has not signed up needs to come by Coach Vestal's, Coach Saddler's, or Coach Beuter's room today to get the necessary information. Swim team starts Monday at the Yadkin Y. 

SENIORS
Seniors who have not been measured for your cap and gown come by Mr. Hutchens Room, 513E today!

SENIORS
College Application Day is November 14th.   All seniors are encouraged to participate.  Seniors who have not completed a college application are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to participate.  Students will use CFNC.org online application to apply for admission to a NC colleges or universities.  See Ms Mitze or Mrs Monroe for prep packet. Must sign up for specific period & time to attend.  Deadline to sign up is November 9th.

SENIORS

Know how to pay for college???  Two important steps. 

First:  Complete FAFSA .  See Mrs Pennix 600G, if you or your parents have questions.

Second:   Research Scholarships & Apply!!  

Check your email for tips about both.   


SENIORS

Next Thursday, November 2nd, there will be a senior meeting with Jostens at the beginning of second period to discuss cap and gown orders.  Orders will be collected on Wednesday, November 8th.


SENIORS

Also, on Wednesday, November 8th, we will make Individual Cap & Gown photos during first and second period.


SOPHOMORES
There will be class ring presentation next Thursday, November 2nd, for sophomores during second period.  Ring orders will be collected in the lobby of "A" building during lunch on Wednesday, November 8th.

THEATER

FHS Theater Department will present Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!

A Student Performance will be presented on November 16th during first period. We have limited tickets for this performance and tickets will go on sale during lunches the week of November 6th. Tickets for the student performance are $5 each. You must have your first period teacher's permission to attend the student performance.

We have two public performances scheduled for November 17th and 18th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and children under five are FREE!  


DMV

The Fall Session of Driver Education will start on Monday, November 6th at 3:30 in the library. You must be 14 1/2 years old before November 14th in order to take the class. (11-6)


LOST AND FOUND

Two pair of prescription glasses have been turned into the office please come by to see if they are yours! (Plastic frames, black on the outside, white on the inside.)
