Friday Announcements

CLUBS
FFA
All cookie dough orders are due to Mrs. Jensen by 3:00 this afternoon.
Tuesday morning there will be a FFA committee meeting at 7:45 in Mrs. Jensen's room. If you are involved in any type of committee work or want to be more involved in the chapter, be in attendance. Officers, make sure you are contacting your existing committee members.

TRANSPORTATION FIELD TRIP
If you are interested in a job or degree in Transportation please drop by and see Mr. Senter in 519E before October 20th. (Transportation includes Truck Driver, Auto Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Parts Sales, Insurance Adjuster, etc.) We have space for 50 students to travel to Colfax on October 25th for a plant tour and college presentation. Lunch will be provided. Come soon before all slots are filled. (10-19)

YEARBOOK
Yearbooks will go on sale next week in the lobby of A building during lunches. Yearbooks are $60. You can put down a deposit of $25 to reserve your copy.  We sold out of books last year, so don't wait to buy yours!

HOMECOMING
Homecoming t-shirt designs are up! Vote for your favorite check @ SenoraHelton on Twitter for the link. You must use your Yadkin student email to vote.

Homecoming Dance Tickets will be on sale during lunches through next Friday October 6th. Tickets are $5. Outside guest forms are available in the office or in 703H. you must pay your fees before you can receive your ticket! Please return outside guest forms by October 13th to Senora! The Dance will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 7-10pm.

Anyone involved in the PowderPuff Football game needs to meet in Senora Helton's room (703H) October 3rd at 7:40am.

BASKETBALL
The mens basketball team will have open gym today at 4:00.


GOLF

Congratulations to Mallory Fobes for winning her last three matches with scores of 35, 36, and 36. Over these three matches she is one under par and her cumulative score for the year is two under par. Good luck to Mallory in the conference tournament next week!


HOMECOMING
Our Powderpuff football game will be October 16th at 6:00 in the stadium.  
Admission is $3 and all proceeds will go to hurricane relief efforts.  
If you are interested in playing or cheering, see your class representative or Señora Helton in 703H.  

The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 21st from 7-10 in the FHS gym.  Tickets wil

l be $5 and will go on sale Wednesday during lunches.

Students please remember if your chromebook is not working properly or needs repair, you need to fill out a help ticket before Mrs. Frazier can work on your device.  The help ticket can be found on the Forbush high website, under students and is the tab marked Chromebook Help.

FALL BLOOD DRIVE
Our Fall Blood Drive will be tomorrow Friday, September 29th. 
We are in need of 40 more potential donors for the blood drive in order to meet our goal. If you have not signed up you may see Mrs. Sloan or a HOSA member. Pizza, soda, and cookies will be served in the snack area after donation. If you present at the blood drive your name will be entered for a drawing for a discount coupon for ½ off admission to Carowinds. All donors must have a photo ID and donors 16 years old must have parental consent.


If you are a HOSA member helping with the blood drive job assignments are posted on Mrs Sloan's door. You will need to wear jeans or khakis's with no holes, HOSA or FHS shirt, and close toe shoes.

 

HOSA will be working concession on 10/7/17. Please sign up on Mrs. Sloan's door.


REMINDERS

Thank you to our JROTC Cadets for cleaning up the trash on our campus! 

Now that campus is CLEAN let's all work together to keep it that way. 


The drink machine in A-building ONLY sells drinks after all lunches have ended. 

The machine is on a timer and will NOT allow sales untill 1:30. If you want to purchase a beverage during your lunches please purchase from the cafeteria.

Sarah Hutchens participated in the NC State FFA Dairy Handlers Career Development Event at the Mountain State Fair. She made in into the grand drive and was in the top six in the state. Sarah had zero experience before preparing for this event. Congratulations to Sarah!

FCCLA
There will be a FCCLA meeting this Friday morning at 7:45  in Mrs. Saddler's room 518E. Please bring your $20 dues along with your Butter Braid forms. We will be planning our first service project of the year so please plan to attend.

PSAT sign-ups will end this Friday,

Sign ups will continue between 
8:30

A limited number of spots are available. 
The PSAT will be given on Saturday, October 14th at 8am.

FALL BLOOD DRIVE
Our Fall Blood Drive will be this Friday, September 29th. 
Students will be available during some lunches for you to sign up to donate or see Mrs. Sloan in room 520E. 
Donors who are 16 years old will need parental consent. 
All donors will need a photo ID.
