MARCH OF DIMES
Thank you to everyone who participated in the March of Dimes fundraiser. Mrs. Sizemore's class was the winner, raising $94.87. They will receive Chick-fil-a biscuits as their prize.

EVENTS
SENIORS TRIP TO THE DASH 5/2

Seniors attending the Dash Baseball game on May 2nd will report to the buses at 9:40 and return at the end of the school day.

FTCC 5/3
Forsyth Technical Community College admission representative Eddie Waddell will be at Forbush High School on May 3rd from 11:10–1:30 in the A building lobby. He is available to talk with any students interested in attending FTCC.  Any senior who has applied to FTCC, needs to talk to Mr. Waddell on May 3rd.  He will assist with any questions you may have.

AWARDS DAY 5/4
Seniors, this Friday, May 4th is our Forbush High School Awards Day program. Seniors who have communicated with Ms. Mitze about their achievements will be recognized. Accomplishments that will be recognized include scholarships, college admission, skills awards, 200+ volunteer hours, and military enlistment. Parents & guests are welcome to attend. All parents and guests are asked to arrive by 1pm to be seated prior to senior procession.

Congratulations to Matt Wilhelm and Lance Kennedy for winning the conference doubles championship. They are back to back conference champs in doubles and will go to regionals next week.
Wilhelm and Kennedy were named All Conference
Seth Anderson was named Honorable Mention all-conference in singles
Peyton Eldridge and Jaedan Gage were named Honorable Mention all-conference in doubles.

MARCH OF DIMES

Fact of the day: A band aid is the same size as a blood pressure cuff for a preemie.  Preterm babies weigh less and have less developed organs which need constant monitoring.

The Falcon Battalion JROTC is accepting donations to support families affected by the tornadoes that hit Greensboro last Sunday. Donated items can include toiletries, batteries, new clothing, non-perishable food, and bottled water. Please bring to room 130A if you would like to contribute.

BLOOD DRIVE
Thank you for your kindness and patience during Friday's blood drive. Our drive Friday was running way behind and several factors contributed to that. If you have not heard we passed our goal of 160 units collecting 169 units of blood! Those 169 units have the ability to provide lifesaving treatment for 507 patients.

GUIDANCE
PLACEMENT TESTING

All students who received Placement Test invitation - TODAY is the DEADLINE to sign up for Placement Testing happening next week.  This Placement Test is needed to be eligible for College Classes.  To be on the list to test next week, you must sign up TODAY in School Counseling Office. You will then receive a Pass & Instructions about testing next week.

Today's March of Dimes fact: Premature babies often undergo blood transfusions during their early days of life.  The blood required for that transfusion can barely fill a teaspoon.

RELAY FOR LIFE 5/11
The Yadkin County Relay for Life Event is Friday, May 11th at Yadkinville Town Park from 6pm to midnight.
Support the Forbush Falcon Team by purchasing a footprint for $1 in memory or honor of your superhero or order a t-shirt starting at $15 during lunch in the lobby of A building.
Want to join the team for volunteer hours, sign up in the lobby or see Mrs. Vogler in 809 J.
Who is your "SuperHero" that has dealt with cancer? Cancer can affect anyone at any age. "We Are for Marshall" continues to be our theme because Marshall was a superhero to fight the good fight!

FREE Summer Camp
If any freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in participating in Camp Med, a three day FREE summer medical camp at Surry Community College in June, pick up an application packet from Mrs. Sloan 520E or the Guidance Office this week. Applications are due Wednesday, April 25th.

DECA is pre-selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to be delivered directly to you on Friday afternoon during fourth period or picked up in room 303C immediately after school.
DECA members will be pre-selling today and Thursday.

TRIVIA CLUB
Winning by one answer, Team Huggins pulled out a trivia victory this morning.  If you enjoy trivia, bring a team next week and join us at 7:45 on Wednesday in the library.

JROTC
The Falcon Battalion JROTC is accepting donations to support families affected by the tornadoes that hit Greensboro last Sunday. Donated items can include toiletries, batteries, new clothing, non-perishable food, and bottled water. Please bring to room 130A if you would like to contribute.

Seniors, the deadline for the Frank Steelman Scholarship has been extended. If you are planning to go into a business-related field, please apply for this $1,000 scholarship. See Mrs. Monroe in the Counseling Office for an application.

Students who have completed Surry's Career & College Promise Application received a note in 1st period on April 13th stating whether they are approved to take Surry courses or if they need to take Placement Test.  
Students need to read these notices carefully and follow all directions..
Students who must take Placement Test: sign up in School Counseling office by April 10th deadline.

Women's Tennis Open Courts will be held early Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 due to Prom. Sign-Up on Coach Vestal's door 604G if you are interested. *Check the team Remind Saturday morning in case of weather cancellation.*

ACC Barnstorming Game
The ACC Barnstorming Game is TONIGHT. We will be selling concessions, including candy, popcorn, drinks, Dominos pizza, Bojangles sandwiches, and Arby's sandwiches. The game begins at 7:30 and gates open at 6:00.
