Friday Announcements

CLUBS
FFA FOOD DRIVE
The FFA Food Drive will begin on October 16th and end on the 27th. Nonperishable items and cans will be collected in your 4th period class. The 4th period class that collects the most cans will receive Krispy Kreme donuts!

JR. CIVITAN
Students and Faculty, please support the third annual Forbush Jr. Civitan Coat Drive. Next Friday at our homecoming football game, we will be collecting new and gently used coats for our local branch of the Salvation Army. These coats will stay in our local community and benefit local residents, so if you have a coat that you haven't used in a while and would like to give it to a good cause, please support our coat drive next Friday night. We will be set up to collect donations at the main gate as you enter the game.

DECA
All DECA members - If you have not picked up your fundraising forms. Please come by 303C today to pick those up.

TRANSPORTATION FIELD TRIP
If you are interested in a job or degree in Transportation, please drop by and see Mr. Senter in 519E before October 20th. Interested students will be able to attend a field trip on October 25th for a tour of a plant and a college presentation. Lunch will be provided. See Mr. Senter if you are interested.

SPORTS
SWIM TEAM
Students interested in swimming this year need to come by Coach Saddler's (308C), Coach Beuter's (202B), or Coach Vestal's (604G) to sign up and get an information packet. Swimming starts October 30th. (10-13)

GUIDANCE
SOPHOMORES
Sophomores -- considering NC School of Math and Science? If you are a sophomore who is strong in math and science and would like to learn more about this challenging & exciting program, plan to attend October 19th NCSSM Information session with Andrew Huggins from NCSSM.  Sign up in school counseling office by October 16th if you would like to attend.  See Ms Mitze or Mrs. Whitley in the Guidance Department with questions.  (10-16)

BUSH BASH
The 6th Annual Clash at the Bash is October 20th and we need you to participate. You can help your class win by signing up for several events. Sign-ups for Clash at the Bash VI events are now with the teacher running the event. Teachers should have event posters posted in their classrooms. The winning class of The Clash at the Bash will receive FREE biscuits on October 27th.

Student Reminder
PSAT is tomorrow October 14th.
If you have signed up to take the PSAT please report to the media center no later than 7:45 am. You may bring pencils and a calculator. Cell phones are not allowed in the testing session. The test should be complete by 11:15 am.
