Tuesday Announcements

FCCLA 
FCCLA is raising money for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter again this year.  Collection bottles are in your first period classroom so that everyone can donate loose change. Bottles will be collected Friday, November 3rd, the first period that raises the most money will win Bojangles biscuits! Please help our four legged friends and bring in your loose change!

ART CLUB
The Art Club will meet Wednesday morning, November 1st at 7:45 in Mr. Lee's room 701H.

DECA 
We need all members present for our meeting this Friday morning at 7:40 for our group picture. Meet in room 303C.
If any DECA member has not turned in Cookie Dough Fundraiser order forms you must see Mrs. Funk in room 303C by the end of 2nd period today!

QUIZ BOWL
Quiz Bowl will meet Wednesday morning at 7:40am in the media center.

Basketball cheer tryouts will be held today, October 31st. You will need a valid physical and signed concussion form before you may participate.  Meet in the lobby of A building at 3:30.

College Application Day is November 14th  for all seniors. Seniors who have not completed a college application are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to participate.  Students will use CFNC.org online application to apply for admission to a NC colleges or universities.  See Ms Mitze or Mrs Monroe for prep packet. Must sign up for specific period & time to attend.  Deadline to sign up is November 9th.

There will be class ring presentation Thursday, November 2nd, for sophomores during second period.  Ring orders will be collected in the lobby of "A" building during lunch on Wednesday, November 8th.

FHS Theater Department will present Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!

A Student Performance will be presented on November 16th during first period. We have limited tickets for this performance and tickets will go on sale during lunches the week of November 6th. Tickets for the student performance are $5 each. You must have your first period teacher's permission to attend the student performance.

We have two public performances scheduled for November 17th and 18th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and children under five are FREE!

The Fall Session of Driver Education will start Monday, November 6th at 3:30 in the library. You must be 14 1/2 years old before November 14th in order to take the class. (11-6)

Monday Announcements

FCCLA

Mens basketball tryouts start today.  All 11th and 12th graders will start at 3:30.  All 9th and 10th graders will start up at 4:45.

Basketball cheer tryouts will be held today, October 30th. You will need a valid physical and signed concussion form before you may participate.  Meet in the lobby of A building at 3:30.

SWIM TEAM
Anyone interested in joining the swim team who has not signed up needs to come by Coach Vestal's, Coach Saddler's, or Coach Beuter's room today to get the necessary information. Swim team starts today at the Yadkin Y.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS
Elizabeth Lowe will be collecting donations to support St. Judes Children's Hospital at tonight's football game. Please look for her holding a St. Judes Poster at the main gate if you would like to make a donation.

FRIENDLY REMINDER

Students FHS has a zero tolerance for spinning tires in the school's parking lots. It is considered careless and reckless driving which is a class 2 misdemeanor.  

You can either be issued a citation or worse, arrested.  Again, safety first, no more spinning tires!

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Congratulations to the women's tennis team on a successful 2017 season. The team finished 2nd in conference and made the playoffs for the first time since 2003. Alyssa Southern and Megan Smith were All-Conference and finished in the Top 8 of the Midwest Regional Doubles Tournament. Stephanie Swain, Lindsay Ray, and Rachel Dixon were All-Conference Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all of the ladies on a great season!

Friday Bush Bash Announcements

Congratulations to the Forbush Volleyball Team for their second place finish in the conference tournament this week. The finals was a hard fought match that really could have gone either way.

The 6th Annual Clash at the Bash is this Friday, October 20th and we need you to participate. The winning class of The Clash at the Bash will receive FREE biscuits on October 27th.

This Saturday is the Homecoming dance! 
The dance is from 7-10pm. 
Tickets are $5 and on sale in Senora Helton's room 703H.
