Tuesday ANnouncements

BETA
If you are in Beta and would like to donate items for Hurricane
Matthew relief in North Carolina, please see Mrs. Davis in 407D for a
list of items. The list will also be posted on the Beta website and
Twitter page. Items donated can count as the mandatory points for the
club.

HOSA
Any HOSA member interested in vision screening training form prevent
blindness should see Mrs. Sloan by Wednesday, October 19th. The
training will be Monday, October 24th from 8-11.
Any student interested in joining HOSA the fee is $20.00 and
membership forms are available from Mrs. Sloan. The last day to join
HOSA will be October 28th.

DECA
All DECA fundraiser orders and money are due by Thursday, October 20th.
Please bring these to Mrs. Pardue as soon as possible.

DECA district competition fee is due to Mrs. Pardue by this Thursday,
October 20th.
All members planning on attending competition should pay by this deadline.

SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
Do you enjoy math and science? Would you like to live on a college
campus for 4 weeks this summer and learn with other high school
students who also enjoy math and science?? Then Summer Ventures is
for you! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Math &
Science related careers. It is a FREE 4-week summer residential
enrichment program hosted at UNCC, ASU, & ECU. If interested, see
school counselor for handout or go to www.summerventures.org. Start
exploring now! DEADLINE: January 15TH.

SENIORS
Seniors need to turn in community service hours to Ms. Elmore in 204B
by October 28th. This is necessary for certain scholarships and
awards.

JR. CIVITAN
The next Jr. Civitan meeting will be this Thursday, October 20th, at
7:35am in 604G. Also as a reminder, dues for the year must be turned
in this week! Anyone interested in helping sell Marshall wristbands
during lunches, see Coach Vestal to sign-up.

SWIM TEAM
Returning and potential swim team members: Please come by Coach Mark
Beuter's room 202B to pick up fundraising forms for your uniforms.

SOFTBALL
The Softball team is selling 50/50 tickets at this Fridays home
football game. We will meet at the field house before the game.
Please let Senora Helton or Coach Helton know if you can help out.

BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will have open gym today at 3:15.

BAND CONCERT
The Fall Band Concert is tonight Monday, October 17th. The concert 7-8
pm in the auditorium.

JROTC
The Forbush JROTC will sponsor ASVAB testing on the 9th of November at
8 AM in the Media Center. The test is open to all 10th through 12th
grade students interested in joining the military BUT you must sign up
with either Colonel Weatherstone or Master Sergeant Hayes in Room 130A
building.
The test is free and once complete, you will receive an ASVAB score
about three weeks after the test. This score can then be used to
discuss your options with military recruiters if you are planning on
going in the military after graduation. By taking the test you ARE
NOT obligated in any way to join the military.

MARSHAL DAY
Tuesday, November 1st will be Marshall Baker Day- please wear your t-shirts!
If you would like to purchase one, see Señora Helton in 703H. Shirts are $10.

November 1st at 7:00 pm we will have a POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL GAME with
all proceeds going to Marshall Baker!
Admission will be $3.
Teams are Seniors and Freshmen vs. Juniors and Sophomores!

Any boys who would like to be cheerleaders see Señora Helton.
