Friday Announcements

PSAT
Attention all 10th and 11th graders: Sign-ups for PSAT between 8:30 and 1:30 and run through October 12th, the cost is $15. Please see Mrs. Monroe to sign up.
The PSAT will take place on October 19th during school. Over 3.5 million high school students take the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, also known as the PSAT each year. This test helps you prepare for the SAT while determining your eligibility for a National Merit Scholarship.

SOPHOMORES
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics is recruiting
sophomores interested in applying to NCSSM.
Andrew Huggins from NCSSM will present to students & their parents
October 18th at 1:35 pm in Forbush High School's Library.
He will explain the application process, SAT requirements, benefits of
attending NCSSM, and also provide his personal insight into this
educational opportunity.
Parent are invited and encouraged to attend the information session.
Deadline to Sign up is October 13th.
Sign up with Mrs. Monroe in school counselor office.

HOSA CLUB
The last day to join HOSA will be Friday, October 28th.
Anyone interested in district HOSA competition should see Mrs. Sloan.

FCCLA is sponsoring a Donation Drive for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter starting tomorrow October 7th through Thursday October 13th. We will be collecting money during first period to buy food and supplies for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter. The first period that raises the most money will receive Bojanles' Biscuits during first period on Friday October 14th! Thank you for supporting our local Animal Shelter.

BETA
Anyone wanting to run for a Beta officer needs to see Mrs. Davis in 407D by Monday October 10 to sign up.

DECA
DECA will meet after school in Mrs. Pardue's room on Wednesday, Oct. 12.  All members should make plans to attend.

SWIM TEAM
Any student-athletes who would like to join the swim team this year,
please come by 202B, Coach Mark Beuter's room for more information
this week. Forms and a sign-up sheet will be on the window by his
front door.

​TEACHERS
Teachers and staff, an adviser from Grand Canyon University's College of Education will be visiting today in the Teacher's Lounge. They will be providing information regarding Online Programs, Grants/Scholarships, Credit Transfers & Re-certification Courses. Refreshments will also be provided for all staff. Please come down to discuss your educational goals.

​SIGN OUTS TODAY
Students that brought a sign out note this week will sign out at the table outside Cafeteria I in the walkway.​ Students will be handed a Bush Bash pass to show faculty at the gated exists in order to leave campus. No cars will be allowed to leave campus without showing the Bush Bash Pass at the gated drives. Each passenger in the cars exiting the campus must have a Bush Bash Pass.

Students that did not bring a note this week will need a parent to come in to sign students out. Parents signing out students will receive a Bush Bash pass to show faculty at the gated drives.
