Tuesday Announcements

JROTC
The Forbush Falcon JROTC Cadets competed in the Elkin High School
drill meet winning 2nd place overall for the entire meet and the
following team events.
First place - Regulation platoon without arms
Second place - Regulation platoon with arms, squad with arms, duet,
Color guard and LET 1 squad with arms.
Third place - Regulation squad without arms and LET 1 squad without arms
Congrats to the JROTC drill team!

Also a "Big Thank You" to our JROTC cadets for cleaning up Falcon Road
and making the drive to our school a pleasant one.

PSAT
Sign-ups for PSAT will run through this Friday, October 7th, the cost is $15.
Please see Mrs. Monroe in guidance to sign up.
LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS available.
The PSAT will take place on October 19th during school.

SOPHOMORES
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics is recruiting
sophomores interested in applying to NCSSM.
Andrew Huggins from NCSSM will present to students & their parents
October 18TH at 1:35 pm in Forbush High School's Library.
He will explain the application process, SAT requirements, benefits of
attending NCSSM, and also provide his personal insight into this
educational opportunity.
Parent are invited and encouraged to attend the information session.
Deadline to Sign up is October 13th.
Sign up with Mrs. Monroe in school counselor office.

COLLEGE TOUR
If you are interested in touring Mars Hill, Western Carolina, and UNC
Asheville on October 11th please bring $35.00 and see Miss Sigmon. The
first 10 students with the money will be the ones that will be going.
We will be chartering a bus to go on tour.

SENIORS
Our Financial Aid Workshop is today, October 4th at 6 pm in
Auditorium. Learn how to apply for college money. If you are planning
to attend college next year and need money to help pay for college,
then you need to attend this workshop. Learn how to apply for
Financial Aid and Scholarships. Parents and students are encourage to
attend together

LIBRARY CARDS
If you filled out a public library card application during our last
homeroom session and have not returned it to our Falcon library,
please get the application to Mrs. Frazier by the end of the day.

JR. CIVITAN CLUB
There will be a Junior Civitan meeting this Thursday, October 6th, at
7:35am in room 604G. Several October events will be finalized and
signed-up for. All members please plan to attend!

DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club will meet on Thursday, October 6th from 3:10-4:00. If you
are involved in the Dinner Theatre Madrigal in December you need to
make arrangements to attend.

HOSA CLUB
The last day to join HOSA will be 10/28/16.
Anyone interested in district HOSA competition should see Mrs. Sloan.
Permission papers are due to Mrs. Sloan by Wednesday October 12 if you
plan to attend.

BLOOD DRIVE BANNER
If anyone would like to sign or write a note of encouragement on the
blood drive banner in the lobby of A building for Marshall we plan to
send the banner to him. Please do so by the end of the day on
Thursday, October 16th.
Thanks to all who came out in support for the Fall blood drive. We
collected 148 units of blood.

BASKETBALL
Men's basketball open gym will be Wednesday at 7:00.

SWIM TEAM
Any student-athletes who would like to join the swim team this year,
please come by 202B, Coach Mark Beuter's room for more information
this week. Forms and a sign-up sheet will be on the window by his
front door.

HOMECOMING
TIckets for the Homecoming dance can be purchased in room 703H (from
Señora Helton) thru Wednesday, October 5th. If you don't have a
ticket, you don't get to come!

BUSH BASH
Bush Bash is this Friday beginning at 12:00.
Anyone interested in playing in the "Corn Hole" tournament at Bush
Bash please see Coach Pruitt by Thursday morning. Tournament will be
limited to 3 Teams per Class
Please bring a parent note if you are signing out early on Friday!
Notes to sign out for Bush Bash are due today or tomorrow to the office.
