SURRY CLASSES
If you are interested in taking Surry Community College classes for
the spring semester, please see Ms. Pennix in Building G-600 on
Tuesdays from 9 am – 2 pm. Most classes fill quickly so do not
hesitate.
HOSA
Any student interested in joining HOSA the fee is $20.00 and
membership forms are available from Mrs. Sloan room 520E. The last day
to join HOSA is TODAY October 28th!
On line testing for District Competition will be Tuesday November 1st
at 3:15 in Mrs Sloan's room. Please bring your chromebook and charger.
Fees for district are due to Mrs. Sloan by Friday November 4th. Fee is $15.00
All vision screening form are due to Mrs Sloan by Monday November 14th.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
Any student interested in becoming a member of the Student Leadership
Team e-mail Coach James room 606G for an application. All
applications are due Monday, October 31st.
BETA
All newly invited members of the Beta Club are reminded their
paperwork and fees are due TODAY Friday, 28th! There will NOT be an
extended deadline, so if you want to join Beta, be sure to turn in
your paperwork!
Also, today is the deadline to donate items for Hurricane Matthew. You
can earn Beta points, see the website for
details. Thanks to all who have already donated!
JR. CIVITAN
Deadline to join the Junior Civitan club is TODAY, October 28th.
You must turn in your application form and dues today!

NHS
The deadline for NHS applications has been moved to 3:05 on November
4th. Please turn your completed Envelope in to Mrs. Roberts or Mr.
Hauser by the end of that school day.
SENIORS
Seniors need to turn in community service hours to Ms. Elmore in 204B
TODAY October 28th! This is necessary for certain scholarships and
awards.
SENIOR YEARBOOK ADS
If you are NOT completing your senior ad online, the money and ad
content is due to Ms. McCollum on November 1st. Please see the FHS
website for more information and forms.
SENIOR JOSTENS MEETING
The senior meeting with Jostens concerning graduation items is
November 1st at 9:45 am. Orders will be collected November 4th.
BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will have open gym TODAY right after school.
There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Monday night in the gym at
6:00 for anyone trying out for men's basketball. Tryouts will start
immediately following the meeting. Basketball tryouts will be held
next Monday through Wednesday. Anyone wanting to tryout must have an
updated physical turned into Coach Christopherson ahead of time or you
will not be allowed to participate.
LOLLY POP SALE
Mrs. Hawks Class will be selling Halloween lolly pops for $1.00 TODAY
in the courtyard between 3rd/4th class changes.
MARSHALL BAKER DAY
NOVEMBER 1st
Tuesday, November 1st is Marshall Baker Day- please wear your t-shirts!
If you would like to purchase one, see Señora Helton in 703H. Shirts are $10.
Tuesday
during lunches stop by the Forbush News Team Table in the Lobby of A
building to send a personal recorded message to Marshall.
Tuesday at 7:00 pm we will have a POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL GAME with all
proceeds going to Marshall Baker! Admission will be $3.
