Friday Announcements

PSAT
Sign-ups for PSAT will run through October 7th, the cost is $15.
Please see Mrs. Monroe in guidance to sign up.
LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS available.
The PSAT will take place on October 19th during school.

BETA
All Beta Club members are reminded they must turn in their Beta Club Agreement by Monday October 3rd in order to remain in Beta Club.  You can get a form from Mrs. Rachel Davis or print them off the Beta website.

HOSA
A HOSA meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 3rd after school in Mrs. Sloan's room. If you are interested in district competition you should be sure to attend this meeting.

DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club will meet on Thursday, October 6th from 3:10-4:00. If you are involved in the Dinner Theatre Madrigal in December you need to make arrangements to attend

TOUR
If you are interested in touring Mars Hill, Western Carolina, and UNC Asheville on October 11th please bring $35.00 and see Miss Sigmon. The first 10 students with the money will be the ones that will be going. We will be chartering a bus to go on tour. 

CHEERLEADING

Basketball Cheerleading Tryout practice starts Monday at 3:30 in the courtyard. If you are interested in trying out and have not received the paperwork, please see Ms. Elmore in 204B today or tomorrow.


HOMECOMING
TIckets for the Homecoming dance can be purchased in room 703H (from Señora Helton) thru next Wednesday, October 5th.  If you don't have a ticket, you don't get to come!

Yearbooks are on sale in the lobby of A building today only!
Yearbooks are $50 for this week only. After this week the price of the yearbook goes up.

BUSH BASH

On October 7, 2016, the graduating classes of Forbush High School will compete for campus supremacy. The Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior classes will square off in a series of tournament style competitions. The winner of each competition will earn 4 points for their class, and when the competitions have ended, we will crown a champion of the Clash at the Bash. Your class will reign supreme until Bush Bash 2017 and be rewarded with biscuits for breakfast on October 14.

The schedule for students working the blood drive is posted on Mrs Sloan's door. Please stop by to see your job duty and class period working. All workers should wear their Marshall shirt or HOSA T shirt, jeans and close toe shoes.

All donors should have an  ID for the blood drive tomorrow. You may go online to the American Red Cross and complete the Rapid Pass to expedite the registration process. If you have any questions please see Mrs Sloan.

JR. CIVITAN

FALL PICTURES
Students, fall pictures have arrived. If you ordered pictures, please see your homeroom teacher some time this week before school, during break, or after school.

BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will meet in the field house at 3:30. As a reminder: if you do not have an updated physical turned in to coach Christopherson, you will not be allowed to participate.

FALL BLOOD DRIVE
Our Fall Blood Drive will be Friday, September 30th. The blood drive will be held in honor of Marshall Baker. Students 16 years of age will need a parental consent to donate.
All donors will need a photo ID. Tuesday will be the last day to sign up for the blood drive to donate or to work. If you need an appointment please see Mrs Sloan.
Our goal is 200 units and right now we need 75 more potential donors to sign up.
Lets show our support for Marshall and make this blood drive a success!

Homecoming dance tickets will be on sale during lunch in the lobby of A building. They are $5 and the dance is open to all grades. It is after the Homecoming game until midnight.

Members of the Bush Band performed in their first competition of the year at Avery High School last Saturday. We are proud to announce that these amazing student musicians

It is truly an honor to sweep our class. We are so excited to bring recognition to FHS in this way and can't wait for our next competition on Saturday, October 1st at North Iredell.

Forbush High School will celebrate it's 50th Year tonight, September

Congratulations to Mallory Fobes for winning yesterdays conference golf match. She shot a one under 34 which is the school record in girls golf.

Thursday Announcements

FRENCH TRIP
Interested in traveling to France during Spring Break with Monsieur
Gladding? There are still spots available and time to sign-up. There
will be a meeting for students after-school today, September 1st
in room 705H. If you are unable to attend and are interested in the
trip, please see Monsieur Gladding to pick up more information.

FCCLA
There will be an FCCLA interest meeting today at 3:15 in room 305C.
Anyone that has taken or is currently enrolled in a Family and
Consumer Science class may join. See Mrs. Saddler or Mrs. Sizemore if
you have any questions.

HOSA
Our first HOSA meeting will be today September 1st. Anyone who is
interested in HOSA should attend this meeting. If you are interested
in running for a HOSA office, officer applications are due to Mrs
Sloan by September 2nd. Please see Mrs Sloan in room 520E if you need
an officer application. HOSA officer election will be on September
8th.

SKILLS
1st Parent Skills Meeting is today at 6:00pm Room 519E. Any parent of a
Skills member or a potential member needs to attend. If you want to
