Tuesday Announcements

JR. CIVITAN
There will be a Junior Civitan meeting this Thursday, September 29th at 7:35 am in 604G. We will be discussing several major volunteer opportunities. All members please plan to attend.

FALL PICTURES
Students, fall pictures have arrived. If you ordered pictures, please see your homeroom teacher some time this week before school, during break, or after school.

BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will meet in the field house at 3:30. As a reminder: if you do not have an updated physical turned in to coach Christopherson, you will not be allowed to participate.

FALL BLOOD DRIVE
Our Fall Blood Drive will be Friday, September 30th. The blood drive will be held in honor of Marshall Baker. Students 16 years of age will need a parental consent to donate.
All donors will need a photo ID. Tuesday will be the last day to sign up for the blood drive to donate or to work. If you need an appointment please see Mrs Sloan.
Our goal is 200 units and right now we need 75 more potential donors to sign up.
Lets show our support for Marshall and make this blood drive a success!

HOMECOMING
Homecoming dance tickets will be on sale during lunch in the lobby of A building. They are $5 and the dance is open to all grades. It is after the Homecoming game until midnight. 

YEARBOOKS
Yearbooks are on sale in the lobby of A building during lunches this week. 
Yearbooks are $50 for this week only. After this week the price of the yearbook goes up.

SENIORS
Mark Your Calendars for our Financial Aid Workshop is October 4th at
6pm in Auditorium. Learn how to apply for college money.
If you are planning to attend college next year and need money to help
pay for college, then you need to attend this workshop.
Learn how to apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Parents and students are encourage to attend together

​SENIORS
 will only use cap and gown and we will take those photos in November. 

BAND
Band is having their annual mattress sale November 5th in the lobby of A building from 10-5. This money helps to replace instruments, music stands and several other items in the classrooms. All YCS employees receive discounts on these name brand mattress, in addition to the 60% reduction in the normal pricing. Please feel free to contact Mr. Brusseau with any questions that you may have.

Members of the Bush Band performed in their first competition of the year at Avery High School last Saturday. We are proud to announce that these amazing student musicians

 home first place trophies for class 1A in the following categories:
Drum Major
Guard
Percussion  
Full Ensemble
It is truly an honor to sweep our class. We are so excited to bring recognition to FHS in this way and can't wait for our next competition on Saturday, October 1st at North Iredell.

Students please check the Lost and Found Shelf in Cafeteria 1. 
There are several pairs of prescription glasses​, shoes and book bags.
