Wednesday Announcements

CLUBS
FFA
FFA Regional Leadership Conference is tomorrow, Thursday, September 28th.
We leave at 2:40 & will return around 8:00pm, cost is $4.
See Mrs. Jensen for a permission form. All members are welcome to attend.
FFA is also selling cookie dough. One tub makes 40 cookies and costs $20.00.

FCCLA
All Butterbraid forms and money must be turned into Mrs. Saddler today, September 27th!

JR. CIVITAN
The next Junior Civitan meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday, September 28th at 7:50am in Coach Vestal's room (604G). All members please plan to attend.(9/27)

HUNTER SAFTEY
If you are interested in Hunter Safety, please stop by Mr. Cave's room, 503E.

SKILLS

Skills members that are planning on traveling to the Fair on October 2nd must come by to see Mr. Senter in room 519E and sign up by tomorrow, September 28th. We will have a meeting for all Skills (State and Local) members tomorrow at 7:40am. If you do not attend the meeting, you cannot go to the Fair. (10-27)


TRANSPORTATION FIELD TRIP

If you are interested in a job or degree in Transportation please drop by and see Mr. Senter in 519E before October 20th. (Transportation includes Truck Driver, Auto Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Parts Sales, Insurance Adjuster, etc.) We have space for 50 students to travel to Colfax on October 25th for a plant tour and college presentation. Lunch will be provided. Come soon before all slots are filled. (10-19)


GUIDANCE
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
PSAT sign-ups have been EXTENDED to Friday, 
October 3rd.
Sign ups will continue between 
8:30

and 1:30 in the Guidance Department.
A limited number of spots are available. 
The PSAT will be given on Saturday, October 14th at 8am.  (10-3)

SENIORS

Mark Your Calendars!  Financial Aid Workshop is October 3rd at 6pm in Auditorium.  Learn how to apply for college money.  If you are planning to attend college next year and need money to help pay for college, then you need to attend this workshop.

Learn how to apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Parents and students are encourage to attend together

Our Powderpuff football game will be October 16th at 6:00 in the stadium.  
Admission is $3 and all proceeds will go to hurricane relief efforts.  
If you are interested in playing or cheering, see your class representative or SeƱora Helton in 703H.  

We are accepting designs for the 2017 Homecoming t-shirt through September 27th.  Tweet your design to @SenoraHelton or email it to jennifer.helton@yadkin.k12.nc.us  
The winner will receive his/her t-shirt free!

The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 21st from 7-10 in the FHS gym.  Tickets will be $5 and will go on sale Wednesday during lunches.  

You must pay your fees before you receive your ticket.  

Outside guest forms will be available in 703H or in the office.


COMMUNITY
FALL BLOOD DRIVE
Our Fall Blood Drive will be Friday, September 29th. 
We are in need of 40 more potential donors for the blood drive in order to meet our goal. If you have not signed up you may see Mrs. Sloan or a HOSA member. Pizza, soda, and cookies will be served in the snack area after donation. If you present at the blood drive your name will be entered for a drawing for a discount coupon for ½ off admission to Carowinds. All donors must have a photo ID and donors 16 years old must have parental consent.


If you are a HOSA member helping with the blood drive job assignments are posted on Mrs Sloan's door. You will need to wear jeans or khakis's with no holes, HOSA or FHS shirt, and close toe shoes.

 

HOSA will be working concession on 10/7/17. Please sign up on Mrs. Sloan's door.
