Wednesday Announcements

FCCLA
FCCLA is raising money for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter again this
year. Collection bottles are in your first period classroom so that
everyone can donate loose change. Bottles will be collected Friday,
the first period that raises the most money will win Bojangles
biscuits! Please help our four legged friends and bring in your loose
change!

DECA
We need all DECA members present for our meeting this Friday morning
at 7:40 for our group picture. Meet in room 303C.

SENIORS
College Application Day is November 14th for all seniors. Seniors who
have not completed a college application are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to
participate. Students will use CFNC.org online application to apply
for admission to a NC colleges or universities. See Ms Mitze or Mrs
Monroe for prep packet. Must sign up for specific period & time to
attend. Deadline to sign up is November 9th.

SENIORS
Know how to pay for college??? Two important steps.
First: Complete FAFSA . See Mrs Pennix 600G, if you or your parents
have questions.
Second: Research Scholarships & Apply!!
Check your email for tips about both.

SENIORS
Tomorrow Thursday, November 2nd, there will be a senior meeting with
Jostens at the beginning of second period to discuss cap and gown
orders. Orders will be collected on Wednesday, November 8th.
Also, next Wednesday, November 8th, we will make Individual Cap & Gown
photos during first and second period.

SOPHOMORES
There will be class ring presentation tomorrow Thursday, November 2nd,
for sophomores during second period. Ring orders will be collected in
the lobby of "A" building during lunch on Wednesday, November 8th.

JROTC
The JROTC Department will sponsor the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational
Aptitude Battery) on Tuesday, 7th of November at 8:30 in the Media
Center. This program is intended to assist students in understanding
academic, vocational and mechanical/electronic aptitudes required for
success for business, the military and various vocations.
Taking the ASVAB DOES NOT require a student enter the military, as
there are no service obligations associated with it. However, it is a
requirement to join any service of the military. It is offered free of
charge while you are a high school student but once you graduate there
is a fee to take the test. It is only open to Juniors and Seniors. If
you are interested in taking the ASVAB, please come to the JROTC room
and sign up with LTC Brooks or MSG Hayes. There are limited seats so
try to see them as soon as possible.

THEATER
FHS Theater Department will present Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!
A Student Performance will be presented on November 16th during first
period. We have limited tickets for this performance and tickets will
go on sale during lunches the week of November 6th. Tickets for the
student performance are $5 each. You must have your first period
teacher's permission to attend the student performance.
We have two public performances scheduled for November 17th and 18th
at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10 per person and children under five are
FREE!

DMV
The Fall Session of Driver Education classes will start Monday,
November 6th at 3:30-6:20 in the library.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
Cost is $65.
100% attendance is required, no exceptions.
You must be 14 1/2 years old before November 14th in order to take the class.
