Monday Announcements

JR. CIVITAN
Members, don't forget that this week's meeting will start early at 7:40am. We will begin with our regular agenda and breakfast, followed by our Operation Christmas Child packing party. Members who signed up for Operation Christmas Child, please make sure you bring your items to the meeting. See everyone this Thursday, Nov. 9th at 7:40am!

HOSA

There will be a HOSA meeting on Thursday Morning at7:30 am in Mrs Sloan's room.

If you have not turned in you dinning attraction guide orders please do so by tomorrow, November 7th.

T shirt orders and money are due November, 9th. Shirts must be paid for before they will be orders.

Online testing for District Competition will be Wednesday, November 8th. Two sessions will be offered, 7:15 am and 3:15 pm. You must attend one of the sessions.

This week is HOSA week. Please participate by wearing the following:

Monday-Wear BLUE for Mental Health Awareness

Tuesday- Fake Injury Day

Wednesday-Health Professional's Day

Thursday-HOSA Spirit Day and Teacher Appreciation Day. 


FCCLA

Alright Falcons! 

Listen Up! 

Last year, our Paws for the Cause Campaign raised over $1.200!!!! 

This year we only raised a little under $300! 

Our goal this year is to raise $1,000! 

SOOOOOOOO we are extending our campaign one more week to try and reach our goal of $1,000! 

This weeks winning class will be rewarded with an all you can eat pancake breakfast! 

AND the top 5 winning teachers will receive a "1st period Coverage Voucher" to use anytime this school year! 

The Animal Shelter REALLY needs our help! 

Last weeks winning class was Mrs. Sloan's 1st period who raised $113!!!! 


SENIORS
College Application Day is November 14th  for all seniors. 
Seniors whohave not completed a college application are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to participate. 
Students will use CFNC.org online application to apply for admission to a NC colleges or universities.  
See Ms Mitze or Mrs Monroe for prep packet. 
Students must sign up for specific period & time to attend.  
Deadline to sign up is November 9th.

JROTC
The JROTC Department will sponsor the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) tomorrow Tuesday, November 7th at 8:30 in the Media Center. 
This program is intended to assist students in understanding academic, vocational and mechanical/electronic aptitudes required for success for business, the military and various vocations.
Taking the ASVAB DOES NOT require a student to enter the military. 
However, it is a requirement to join any service of the military. It is offered FREE of charge while you are a high school student but once you graduate there is a fee to take the test. 
It is only open to Juniors and Seniors. 
If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, please come to the JROTC room and sign up with LTC Brooks or MSG Hayes. 
There are limited seats so hurry.

THEATER
FHS Theater Department will present Alice's Adventures in Wonderland!
A Student Performance will be presented on November 16th during first period. 
We have limited tickets for this performance and tickets will go on sale during lunches this week. 
Tickets for the student performance are $5 each. 
You must have your first period teacher's permission to attend the student performance.
We have two public performances scheduled for November 17th and 18th at 7:00 pm. 
Tickets are $10 per person and children under five are
FREE!

DMV
The Fall Session of Driver Education classes will start today, November 6th at 3:30-6:20 in the library.
NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED!
Cost is $65.
100% attendance is required, no exceptions.
You must be 14 1/2 years old before November 14th in order to take the class.
