Monday Announcements

CLUBS
FCA
Forbush FCA is partnering with Friends Feeding Friends to fight hunger in Yadkin County. Please bring non-perishable food items or money to your first period teacher starting today, November 27th and lasting through Wednesday, December 13th. The first period that turns in the most items each Wednesday will win a FREE Breakfast from Bojangles and the class that turns in the most items over the three week period will get a Pancake Breakfast.

NHS/BETA
The National Honor Society and Beta Induction Ceremonies will be tonight, November 27th in the auditorium. The NHS induction will start at 6pm.  
The Beta Induction will begin at 8pm.​ 
There will be a reception for 
​BOTH 
ceremonies at 7pm in the media center.  

HOSA
Any HOSA member who plans to ride in the Yadkinville Christmas Parade should see Mrs Sloan by Wednesday

SCIENCE OLYMPAID
There will be an organizational meeting for Science Olympiad on Thursday morning at 7:40 in Mr. McCarns room 817J.  Anyone interested in a fun science competition between other high schools is encouraged to attend.

JROTC 
The Forbush JROTC Fall Promotion Ceremony will be held this Tuesday, November 28th, beginning at 5pm in the auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Attention returning football players, linemen will begin lifting on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school starting tomorrow, November 28th. Meet in the weight room at 3:30. Have rides ready to come pick you up at 4:30

CHORAL CONCERT
The Forbush Choral Department presents their Winter Concert on Monday, December 11th, at 7pm in the FHS Auditorium. 

BAND CONCERT
The Forbush High School Band will present their Winter Concert on Thursday, December 14th. This concert will begin at 7pm at the Yadkin Arts Council.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS
The deadline to register for Spring Surry classes is December 5th.  Students must turn in Surry Application to Mrs Pennix by December 5th to start the process to register for Spring Surry classes. Do not delay, if you need to take placement testing, time is running out for Spring.  See Ms Mitze with questions ASAP.

SENIORS
Seniors, don't forget… Senior Ads for the yearbook are due December 22nd. For more information, please visit the Forbush website yearbook page under the "Students" tab. 

CAREER AND COLLEGE DAY
Forbush High will be dedicating one day to Career and College Readiness Activities tomorrow Tuesday, November 28th.  Students will report to a designated room and remain with their homeroom teacher the majority of the day. (Student Locator sheets are posted on building windows already.) Activities will be based on grade levels and testing requirements for our school. We are excited about providing the opportunity for students to network with over 45 colleges and businesses in our CCR Fair
​! This event will be 
held in the gym.

Students will be reporting to the assigned locations in the morning and remaining with their homeroom teacher in that location for the Career and College Activities for the day. Please look at the information posted on the doorways of all buildings to find your assigned meeting location by your homeroom teachers name. Sophomores and Seniors- you were given your testing site location.

FHS ANGEL TREE
IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
The Forbush Angel Tree is now up in the office. If you would like to make a donation, please stop by the office and select a paper ornament from the tree. Bring the unwrapped gift listed on the ornament to the office by December 8th. Student shoppers will receive 2 hours of community service for participation. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Gentry in the office.
