CLUBS
JR. CIVITAN

The next Jr. Civitan meeting will be this Thursday, April 26th at 7:50am in 604G. Officer elections for next year will be held. Additionally, T-shirt order forms & payments are due. All members please plan to attend.

SKILLS
Congratulations to the following Skills competitors. Skills had six out of our small team of eight that placed top 5 in the state!
Zach Morris- 1st place Motorcycle Technology ($10,000.00 scholarship) headed to nationals in June.
Alesha Milholland- 2nd place Power Equipment Technology ($7500.00 scholarship) National alternate
Athan Wilson- 3rd place Principles of Engineering National alternate
Chris Gieger- 4th place Marine Technology National alternate
Lucas Fletcher- 4th place Basic Health Care Skills National alternate

MARCH OF DIMES
This is our final week of our March of Dimes fundraiser.  Please help support this important cause.
Fact of the day: A band aid is the same size as a blood pressure cuff for a preemie.  Preterm babies weigh less and have less developed organs which need constant monitoring.

JROTC
The Falcon Battalion JROTC is accepting donations to support families affected by the tornadoes that hit Greensboro last Sunday. Donated items can include toiletries, batteries, new clothing, non-perishable food, and bottled water. Please bring to room 130A if you would like to contribute.

BASS FISHING CLUB
If you are interested in joining the Forbush Bass Fishing

lub, there will be an interest meeting right after school on May 11 in the first cafeteria. You must have a parent present at this meeting. Again, the interest meeting is May 11 right after school in the first cafeteria.

BAND
Anyone not currently in Spring band that would like to participate in marching band next Fall needs to see Mr. Elliott during lunch or after school by Friday for information.
Auditions for the Bush Band Color guard will be held on April 30th and May1st after school from 3:30-6pm. This is open to anyone and no experience is needed to join. Students with dance experience are encouraged to apply. Please see Mr. Elliott during lunch or after school if you would like more information.

SENIORS 4/25
Seniors, the deadline for the Frank Steelman Scholarship is April 25th. If you are planning to go into a business-related field, please apply for this $1,000 scholarship. See Mrs. Monroe in the Counseling Office for an application.

RED CROSS SCHOLARSHIP
All applications for the Red Cross scholarship are due to Mrs. Sloan by This Friday 4/27.

RED CORDS
If you are a senior qualify for a red cord at graduation by one of the following ways: 3 donations, 8 hours of service or recruiting 5 first time donors please see Mrs. Sloan by this Friday April 27 so that your information can be sent to the Red Cross for your red cord.
If you have received your red cord already in the mail please see Mrs. Sloan so that you name can be added to the list for awards day and noted on the graduation program.

SPORTS
MENS BASKETBALL CAMP

Anyone interested in going to basketball team camp this summer, please see Coach Christopherson this week 404D.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Women's Tennis Open Courts will be held this Saturday from 9am-10:30am. Sign-Up on Coach Vestal's door 604G if you are interested. Check the team Remind Saturday morning in case of weather cancellation.

EVENTS
WILKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE 4/23

Scott Johnson from Wilkes Community College will be set up in A building lobby during all lunches today to talk with seniors who have applied to Wilkes or other students who are considering Wilkes Community College.  If you are interested in learning more about WCC, please make sure to stop by to talk to Mr. Johnson.

SPRING PICTURES 4/25
Spring photos are April 25th in the auditorium.
Stop by the office to pick up an order form.
A completed order form is required to have your picture taken.

FREE Summer Camp 4/25
If any freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in participating in Camp Med, a three day FREE summer medical camp at Surry Community College in June, pick up an application packet from Mrs. Sloan 520E or the Guidance Office this week. Applications are due Wednesday, April 25th.

COLLEGE GEAR DAY 4/27
College Gear Day is April 27th!
If you will be attending a post-secondary school next fall, wear your future school gear and have your college signing day captured in pictures here at Forbush High School.
This event includes enlisting with our nation's armed forces!
The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, April 25th.
Sign up in the guidance office with Ms. Monroe or see Mr. Sorrell if you have any questions.

RELAY FOR LIFE 5/11
The Yadkin County Relay for Life Event is Friday, May 11th at Yadkinville Town Park from 6pm to midnight.
Want to join the team for volunteer hours, sign up in the lobby or see Mrs .Vogler in 809J.

BLOOD DRIVE
Thank you for your kindness and patience during Friday's blood drive. Our drive Friday was running way behind and several factors contributed to that. If you have not heard we passed our goal of 160 units collecting 169 units of blood! Those 169 units have the ability to provide lifesaving treatment for 507 patients.

CREDIT RECOVERY
Students, if you are interested in summer school opportunities through the Yadkin Virtual Academy or for Credit Recovery, please pick up an application in the front office. We have a limited number of spots, so please complete an application and return it to the office as soon as possible.
