Thursday Announcements

SPORTS
BASKETBALL

all program will have open gym on Monday, August 28th starting at 7:00pm.

CLUBS
FCCLA
There will be a FCCLA interest meeting Friday morning from 7:40-8:10 in Mrs. Saddler's room 308C. Everyone is welcome to meet new friends and hear what FCCLA is all about!

NHS
Any Current National Honor Society Member interested in a leadership position needs to see Mrs. Roberts in 706H by Friday to receive an application.

DECA
There will be a DECA interest meeting at the end of next week on Friday morning September 1st from 7:40-8:10 in Mrs. Funk's room 303C. Everyone is welcome to meet new friends and hear what DECA is all about!
Anyone interested in a DECA leadership position needs to see Mrs. Funk by Monday.

​HOSA
There will be a HOSA meeting for students who are interested in joining HOSA on Thursday September 7th. We will offer 2 meetings that day, one before school and one after school. We will also discuss upcoming events for September.

MEDIA CENTER
If you are a student who is bringing your own computer to school this year you need to register your device as soon as possible.  To register your device visit the Forbush High School website, hover over students and select

evice.  This step is essential in being able to help you solve issues that may come up with your device throughout the year.

GUIDANCE

SENIORS
September 12th is Surry Community College's "College Fair".  
Many NC colleges will be represented.  
Collect catalogs, scholarship info, and talk directly to college admission
​ ​
representatives.
Juniors & Seniors may sign up to attend.  
Space is limited.    
Bus leaves at 8:25 am and return by 2:30 pm to FHS.  
Permission forms are available in the Guidance Office  
Permission forms deadline is September 8th.
First come, first serve.
 
SENIORS

September 8th at 10:00 am is
​our ​
annual
​​
senior presentation "Going to College:  Get Organized & Get Started".  Seniors will learn about resources to use to research career options, college choices, prepare for the SAT & ACT, paying for college, etc. The purpose of this presentation is to encourage seniors to start making their post graduate plans.  Students will hear an overview of options, learn resources available, be given several websites along with information to help guide them through decisions they will need to make over the next few months.  June will arrive quicker than we expect. Seniors should start planning
NOW for the day after graduation

Parents are welcome & encouraged to attend.
​This meeting will be held in the auditorium.
