Monday Announcements

SPORTS
BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will have open gym tonight, August 28th starting at 7:00 pm. As a reminder, if you are participating in a fall sport, you can not attend open gym.

WRESTLING
Anyone interested in wrestling this year needs to come and see Coach Farmer in 803J to sign up.  Please come before school or at lunch. There is an informational packet to pick up.  Our first open mat will be next week.

CLUBS
DECA
There will be a DECA interest meeting

 September 1st from 7:40-8:10 in Mrs. Funk's room 303C. Everyone is welcome to meet new friends and hear what DECA is all about!
Anyone interested in a DECA leadership position needs to see Mrs. Funk today.

HOSA
There will be a HOSA meeting for students who are interested in joining HOSA on Thursday September 7th. We will offer 2 meetings that day, one before school and one after school. We will also discuss upcoming events for September.

MEDIA CENTER
If you are a student who is bringing your own computer to school this year you need to register your device as soon as possible.  To register your device visit the Forbush High School website, hover over students and select, Register Your Device.  This step is essential in being able to help you solve issues that may come up with your device throughout the year.

GUIDANCE
JUNIORS/SENIORS
September 12th is Surry Community College's "College Fair".   
Juniors & Seniors may sign up to attend.  
Space is limited.     
Bus leaves at 8:25 am and return by 2:30 pm to FHS.  
Permission forms are available in the Guidance Office   
Permission forms deadline is September 8th. 
First come, first serve.
 
SENIORS
September 8th at 10:00 am is our
​ ​
annual senior presentation "Going to College:  Get Organized & Get Started".  
Seniors should start planning NOW for the day after graduation!
Parents are welcome & encouraged to attend. 
This meeting will be held in the auditorium.
