Monday Announcements

FRENCH TRIP
Interested in traveling to France during Spring Break with Monsieur Gladding?  There are still spots available and time to sign-up.  There will be a meeting for students after-school on Thursday, September 1st in room 705H.  If you are unable to attend and are interested in the trip, please see Monsieur Gladding to pick up more information.

S.A.S.I.
S.A.S.I. will meet Tuesday morning at 7:30 in Ms. McCollum's room 233B.

FCCLA
There will be an FCCLA interest meeting Thursday at 3:15 in room
305C.  Anyone that has taken or is currently enrolled in a Family and
Consumer Science class may join. See Mrs. Saddler or Mrs. Sizemore if
you have any questions.

HOSA
Our first HOSA meeting will be ​this Thursday September 1st.  Anyone who is interested in HOSA should attend this meeting.  If you are interested in running for a HOSA office, officer applications are due to Mrs Sloan by September 2nd. Please see Mrs Sloan in room 520E  if you need an officer application. HOSA officer election will be on September 8th.

SKILLS
1st Student Skills Meeting ​Tuesday ​right after school in 519E.
Any student that is interested or thinks they might be interested in
joining Skills USA needs to attend. If you want to attend, but can't
make it, please drop by and see Mr. Senter.

1st Parent  Skills Meeting ​Thursday at  6:00pm Room 519E. Any parent of a
Skills member or a potential member needs to attend. If you want to
attend, but can't make it, please contact Mr. Senter by phone at

GUIDANCE

September 2nd at 9:45 am is annual senior presentation "Going to
College:  Get Organized & Get Started".  Seniors will learn about
resources to use to research career options, college choices, prepare
for the SAT & ACT, paying for college, etc.  The purpose of this
presentation is to encourage seniors to start making their
post-graduation plans.  Students will hear an overview of options,
learn resources available, be given several websites along with
information to help guide them through decisions they will need to
make over the next few months.  June will arrive quicker than we
expect. Planning needs to start NOW for the day after graduation,
parents are welcome & encouraged to attend.

September 13 this Surry Community College's "College Fair". Many NC colleges will be
represented.  Collect catalogs, scholarship info, and talk directly to college admission representatives.  Bus leaves at 8:15 am and return by 2:30 pm to Forbush. Juniors & Seniors may sign up to attend.  Space is limited.   Permission forms available in
school counselor office.   Permission forms deadline is September 9th.

BASEBALL
If you are interested in playing baseball this year, come by room 408D
and see Coach Moss with your contact information and to receive
information on workouts and field workdays.

FOOTBALL
All football players are to report to their offensive coach's classroom immediately after school.

PARKING PASS
Parking passes will be sold at break and after school until 4:00 in
the JROTC room in A building. See Colonel Weatherstone.

REMINDERS
This is a reminder that students are not to bring lunch trays into the
courtyard during lunch. Lunch should be eaten in one of the cafeterias.
