HOSA
HOSA T-shirts are here. You may stop by Mrs. Sloans room 520E to pick
up your shirt.
There will be a required meeting for all students attending HOSA State
Leadership Conference on Thursday, March 16th after school in 520 E.

JR. CIVITAN
There will be NO Junior Civitan meeting this Thursday.
Our next meeting will be Thursday, March 9th.
Again, NO Junior Civitan meeting this week.

PROM TICKETS AND OUTSIDE GUEST FORMS
Prom tickets go on sale March 1st through March 10th in the lobby of A
building during all lunches. Junior and senior tickets cost $20 per
ticket. Freshmen and sophomores tickets can be brought by an
upperclassman and these tickets are $25 each. Outside guests must
complete the Outside Guest Form. Outside Guest Forms can be found on
the school website, in the office or in room 703H. Outside Guest
Forms are due March 10th and the cost for an outside guest ticket is
$30 each. You must clear your name from the debt list, this includes
cafeteria charges, before you can come to prom. NO refunds will be
issued for tickets sales.

Tuesday Announcements

FFA
Good morning & Happy National FFA Week! FFA got its start with just 33
farm boys and now is our country's largest student-lead organization
with more than 600,000 members nation-wide. The letters FFA stood for
Future Farmers of America. Now since agriculture is so much more than
farming, it is the National FFA Organization. It's no longer just
about cows, plows & sows; we're about leaders, beakers & speakers.
Today is FFA T-shirt day! There will also be an FFA meeting today
after school. We will have sign-ups for spring events.
Thursday our FFA officers & members will be in the courtyard with a
small goodie bag for teacher & students.
Friday we will have a scavenger hunt. Look for more details later this week.

JROTC
The Forbush High School JROTC will host its Spring Promotion Ceremony
tonight, February 21st. This event will begin at 6 pm and will be held
in the auditorium. Please join us as we celebrate our FHS cadets!

FCCLA
FCCLA is selling cheesecakes now through Thursday! If you are
interested in buying cheesecake, please see an FCCLA member or stop by
Mrs. Saddler's room 305C. Thank you for supporting FCCLA!

SKILLS
Skills USA will hold a parent meeting tonight, February 21st, at 6 pm
in room 519E for anyone competing in Regionals. Students and parents,
please plan to attend. Also, all strawberry orders are due on
Thursday, February 23.

BASKETBALL
Our girls basketball team will play at home in the first round of the
state playoffs tonight starting at 6:00. Come on out and support our
Lady Falcons this evening. Admission is $6 for everyone.

PARKING PASS
This is a reminder for all student drivers regarding the student
parking lot. All student drivers must have a registered parking permit
and must park in designated student parking spots. Students who do not
park in designated student parking spots or who have not purchased a
parking permit will risk receiving a $10 ticket.

FCCLA
This week is FCCLA week. Wear your red to support FCCLA.
FCCLA has begun a new recycling project. Please put your empty cans and
bottles in the recycling bags that have been placed in each classroom.
Teachers, please put your recycling outside of your classroom at the
beginning of 4th
period so FCCLA members can pick it up. Recycling will be picked up
during 4th period every Friday untill the end of the school year.

JR. CIVITAN
Any Junior Civitan members available for volunteer hours tomorrow
afternoon, see Coach Vestal TODAY. Concessions workers and
gate-keepers are needed for tomorrow night's soccer games from
4:15-7:30pm. Again, see Coach Vestal today if you are interested in
volunteering at tomorrow night's soccer games.

ACT TEST ROOM LOCATIONS
Juniors your ACT Pretest room locations are posted in the Lobby of A
building on the cafeteria 1 windows. Please check to see which room
you are scheduled to report to on February 21st for your pretest.

WRESTLING
Congratulations to Edwin Alvarenga for earning his 100th career
victory and finishing 3rd in the wrestling state championships this
past weekend. Congratulations also to Caleb Price who finished
fourth. Caleb finished his career with over 140 victories.

DRIVERS ED
Drivers Education Summer Classes for 2017 are as follows;

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

forms. The regional competition is Saturday February 25. Also it it

HOSA
If you have not paid the remainder for your balance for State
Leadership conference please do so. If you have questions see Mrs.

DECA
All students attending DECA State Competition must see Mrs. Pardue
TODAY to sign up for a test time. Test dates are Tuesday, Feb. 21st
through Thursday, Feb. 23rd.

FCCLA
Next week is FCCLA week. Wear your red to support FCCLA at the Table.
Studies show that eating dinner with your family improves academic
performance in school.
FCCLA will begin recycling today. Please put your empty cans and

qualified for the 1A/2A Indoor State Championship.
Madisun Shore, Monserrat Andrade, Caroline Owens, Mackenzie Fulk, Anna
Kathryn Kilby, and Dakota Mendenhall.
AK Kilby and Dakota Mendenhall were named all state and Madisun Shore
came in 3rd in the 1000m.
A big shout out to AK Kilby for being 2017 State Champion!!

participate. See Coach Moss in 408D for the concussion form.

WRESTLING
Please congratulate the Forbush wrestling team for their 8th place
finish this weekend at the Regional wrestling tournament. All of our
wrestlers won at least one match. Caleb Price and Edwin Alvarenga both
advanced to the finals where Caleb finished 2nd. Edwin took first
place and was recognized as the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the
Tournament. Both of them advance to the state tournament which starts
Thursday at 4 pm.
Wish them luck and thanks again for all your support!

SWIM TEAM
Congratulations to both the men's and women's swim teams for their performances at the regional championship this weekend. There were many season-best performances.

All three women's relays with Suzie Beamguard, Sarah Hayden, Gina Myers, Sierra Winters, and Samantha Wooten had top ten finishes and advanced to States. Also, Jamie Beamguard, Suzie Beamguard, Gina Myers, and Samantha Wooten advanced to States in individual events.

The State Championship will be held this Thursday in Cary.

Mrs. Hawks' class will be selling red, white and blue glow stick

project.

The Yadkin County Tax Office administrator would like to extend an
invitation to students that would like to earn volunteer hours working
in the Yadkin County Tax Office. The tasks will be working with office
equipment such as adding machines, copiers, scanners, and filing. If
you are interested please see Mrs.Gentry for contact information.

LUNCHROOM CHARGES
Students who have charged more than $5 on their breakfast/lunch
account will be required to come to the office during their breakfast/
lunch to pick up a Meal Pass Ticket. These tickets must be presented
at the checkout register in the lunch room in order to receive a meal.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
Students are not allowed to be dropped off in the traffic circles or beyond the traffic circles on either side of the school.  Student's should be dropped off and picked up by the Spirit Rock or in front of the school.

Students are allowed to eat lunch in the lunchrooms or in the courtyard.
No eating in the lobby of A building please.

HOSA
Thank you to all of those who participated in the Band-Aids for Brenner's.
We were able to collect 209 boxes of Band-Aids for Brenner's
​!​

Our overall winner was Mrs. Saddler with 62 boxes of Band Aids.
Coming in at a close 2nd was Mr. Brusseau with 53 boxes!

HOSA
Last Day!
HOSA will collect Ban-Aids for Brenner's during fourth period.
Please bring in new unopened boxes of character Band Aids, such as
Frozen, Cars, Snoopy, Minions etc.
The overall winner fourth period will receive a cupcake and popcorn party.

SKILLS
Today, February 3rd is the deadline for nut money and Skills fees.
If you are traveling to regionals on the 27th, you must see Mr. Senter
this week to make arrangements.

CHEER
The FHS competition cheerleading squad will host a Cheer Showcase tomorrow
Saturday, February 4th. This event will begin at 1pm and will be held
in the Forbush gym.. Admission is $5 and concessions and vendors will
be available during the event.

YEARBOOK

GOLF
Last day for anyone interested in playing men's golf this spring to sign up in

in the Yadkin County Tax Office. The tasks will be working with office
equipment such as adding machines, copiers, scanners, and filing. If

Thursday Announcements

HOSA
2 days left!
HOSA will continue collecting Ban-Aids for Brenner's during fourth
period. Please bring in new unopened boxes of character Band Aids,
such as Frozen, Cars, Snoopy, Minions etc.We will have one more
collection day this Friday, February 3rd.
The overall winner fourth period will receive a cupcake and popcorn party.

SKILLS
Friday, February 3rd is the deadline for nut money and Skills fees.
If you are traveling to regionals on the 27th, you must see Mr. Senter
this week to make arrangements.

FCCLA
FCCLA will meet after school on today in Mrs. Saddler's room 305C.
If you can not attend, please see Mrs. Saddler or Mrs. Sizemore.

CHEER
The FHS competition cheerleading squad will host a Cheer Showcase this
Saturday, February 4th. This event will begin at 1pm and will be held
in the Forbush gym.. Admission is $5 and concessions and vendors will
be available during the event.

YEARBOOK
Yearbooks will be on sale for the last time this year starting next
week, February 6th-10th. Yearbooks are $60. You can also pay the
remaining balance on a book at this time. Limited number of books
left, so reserve your copy next week!

Anyone interested in playing men's golf this spring needs to come by
Coach Pruitt's room 306C, this week in order to sign up.

The next Jr. Civitan meeting will be tomorrow morning, February 2nd,
