Tuesday Announcements

CLUBS
JR. CIVITAN
The first Jr. Civitan Meeting of the semester will be Thursday, September 14th at 7:50am in Coach Vestal's room, 604G. Our club is centered around community service. All returning members and anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend!

FHS Drama Club
FHS Drama Club will meet tomorrow morning, September 13th in Mrs. Campbell's room 704H at 7:30. If you are interested in joining the FHS Drama Club please make arrangements to attend this meeting or see Mrs. Campbell.

HOSA
Our Fall Blood Drive will be Friday, September 29th. 
Students will be available during some lunches for you to sign up to donate or see Mrs. Sloan in room 520E. 
Donors who are 16 years old will need parental consent. 
All donors will need a photo ID.

All HOSA officers should see Mrs Sloan today for permission forms for Fall Leadership. 

GUIDANCE
SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS
PSAT sign-ups will start today and end on 
September 22nd.

A limited number of spots are available. 
The PSAT will be given on Saturday, October 14th at 8am. 
Over 3.5 million high school students take the PSAT, also known as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test each year. The PSAT helps you prepare for the SAT while determining your eligibility for a National Merit Scholarship.

SPORTS
WRESTLING
The wrestling team will hold open mats this week tonight and Thursday at 7 pm in the field house.

BASKETBALL
Open gym for men's basketball today has been canceled.

REMINDER
Students please help keep our courtyard clean. If you see trash pick it up and throw it away!  Fall is coming! Perfect weather for enjoying your lunch outside. In order to continue eating privileges outside we need your help to keep our courtyard clean.

FCCLA will hold an interest meeting tomorrow before school in Mrs.Saddler's room 308C. All are welcome to come meet new people and discuss leadership opportunities for the school year! Dues are $20 and must be paid by September 22nd! Please see Mrs. Saddler or Mrs. Sizemore with any questions!

Last day to purchase Unifi Bowl shirts! Available for purchase in the lobby of A building during lunches for $5.00. Students who would like to purchase a t-shirt and game ticket combo can do so for the reduced price of $8.00. This combination price is for Forbush students only. Any remaining shirts will be available for purchase at the game on Friday in the concession stand.

COMMUNITY
RACEMORE FOR MACEMORE
The 2017 Racemore for Macemore 5K walk/run is Saturday, September 16th at 9am. The race will start and end at Collide Church in Downtown Yadkinville. The race benefits Big A Ministries which supports individuals battling serious health conditions as well mission work and scholarship funds. Students are encouraged to participate in the race and support this local organization. You can sign-up online at active.com. Be sure to register by 12 Noon on September 11th in order to guarantee a t-shirt!

FCS
The Fellowship of Christian Students will collect money for our neighbors in Texas and those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The first period class that collects the most money will receive a free breakfast. Collection will end tomorrow.
If FHS collects a combined total of $2,500.00 we will have an ice cream social!

FCCLA
There will be an FCCLA meeting this Friday at 7:40 in 308C.

FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH
Students, in order to continue receiving Free and Reduced Lunch you must complete a new form at the beginning of each school year. If you have not completed a new form this year, please stop by the office
