Thursday Announcements

HOSA
Any student interested in joining HOSA the fee is $20.00 and

STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM

SENIORS
Seniors need to turn in community service hours to Ms. Elmore in 204B
by October 28th. This is necessary  for certain scholarships and
awards.

The senior meeting with Jostens concerning graduation items that was
originally scheduled for October 26th has been RESCHEDULED for
November 1st at 9:45 am. Orders will be collected November 4th.

SOFTBALL
The Softball team is selling 50/50 tickets at this Fridays home
football game.  We will meet at the field house before the game.
Please let Senora Helton or Coach Helton know if you can help out.

WRESTLING
Anyone interested in wrestling needs to plan on staying after school on Wednesday, October 26th to participate in the Hydration test.  We will meet in the training room immediately after school.  We will be done by 3:45 pm.  Please drink extra fluids this weekend so you can pass the hydration test on Wednesday.  See Coach Farmer 803J for more details.

GOLF
Congratulations to Mallory Fobes for finishing 4th in Tuesday's Women's Golf Regional, she will be competing next Monday and Tuesday in the State Finals.

JROTC
The Forbush JROTC will sponsor ASVAB testing on the 9th of November at
8 AM in the Media Center.  The test is open to all 10th through 12th
grade students interested in joining the military BUT you must sign up
with either Colonel Weatherstone or Master Sergeant Hayes in Room 130A
building.
The test is free and once complete, you will receive an ASVAB score
about three weeks after the test.  This score can then be used to
discuss your options with military recruiters if you are planning on
going in the military after graduation.  By taking the test you ARE
NOT obligated in any way to join the military.

XC TEAM
Congratulations to both the Men's and Women's XC teams for finishing
first at the WPAC Conference Meet. All Conference runners were Dakota
Mendenhall, Travis Dixon, Charlie Wyrick, AK Kilby, Caroline Owens,
Madisun Shore, Sarah Hayden, Hannah Pearson, and Laura Wyrick.
Both Dakota Mendenhall and Anna Kathryn Kilby were WPAC Runner of the Year.

campus for 4 weeks this summer and learn with other high school
students who also enjoy math and science?? Then Summer Ventures is
for you! This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about Math &
Science related careers. It is a FREE 4-week summer residential
enrichment program hosted at UNCC, ASU, & ECU. If interested, see
school counselor for handout or go to www.summerventures.org. Start
exploring now! DEADLINE: January 15TH.

Thursday Announcements

PSAT
All 10th and 11th graders
Sign-ups for PSAT have been extended.
The cost is $15.

FCCLA
FCCLA is sponsoring a Donation Drive for the Yadkin County Animal
Shelter through Thursday, October 13th. We are collecting money
during first period to buy food and supplies for the Yadkin County
Animal Shelter. The first period that raises the most money will
receive Bojangles' Biscuits during first period on Friday, October
14th! Thank you for supporting our local Animal Shelter.

JR. CIVITAN
Any Junior Civitan member wanting to help sell Marshall wristbands
this week and next week during lunches, see Coach Vestal to sign-up
today.

DECA
Any DECA member that was unable to attend the meeting yesterday,
should come see Mrs Pardue to sign up for District competition and get
the meeting notes.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Wednesday Announcements

SPLASH
UNC Splash is November 12th!
Visit UNC-Chapel Hill's campus to take a variety of interesting and
fun classes taught by Carolina students. UNC is offering over 120
classes with topics that range from college admissions, to
self-defense, to zombies, to DNA, and beyond. The program is Saturday,
November 12th from 9:30am to 5pm. Create your own schedule to maximize
your learning! Registration closes on November 5th, so don't delay! To

Mitze in guidance.

PSAT
All 10th and 11th graders
Sign-ups for PSAT end today Wednesday, October 12th.
