All students attending Fall Leadership on Wednesday, October 12th
should report to Mrs. Sloan's room first thing Wednesday morning.
Students should wear close toe shoes, khakis, HOSA shirt or navy
collar shirt. If you have questions please see Mrs. Sloan in room 520E.

FCCLA is sponsoring a Donation Drive for the Yadkin County Animal
Shelter through Thursday, October 13th. We will be collecting money
during first period to buy food and supplies for the Yadkin County
Animal Shelter. The first period that raises the most money will
receive Bojangles' Biscuits during first period on Friday, October
14th! Thank you for supporting our local Animal Shelter.

DECA
DECA will meet after school in Mrs. Pardue's room on Wednesday, October 12th.
All members should make plans to attend.

FCA
All students are invited by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to a
concert this Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the football stadium. Come and
enjoy.

BASKETBALL
The men's basketball program will have open gym on Wednesday at 7:00.

UNDERCLASSMEN PICTURE MAKEUP DAY
Thursday, October 13th will be picture retakes in the auditorium starting at 10:00. Picture forms are in the office. If you have not received your pictures from the September 8th sitting please go by the auditorium and speak with a Life Touch representative on October 13th.

CHORUS CONCERT

Fall Chorus Concert is tonight Tuesday, October 11th. 
The concert begins at 7pm in the auditorium.

BAND FESTIVAL
The annual Forbush Festival of Marching Bands, is scheduled for Saturday, October 15th, in the stadium beginning at 10am. Come on out and support some wonderful bands from across our region.

BAND CONCERT

Fall Band Concert is Tuesday, October 17th.

Monday Announcements

PSAT
Attention all 10th and 11th graders:
Sign-ups for PSAT continue today from 8:30 to 1:30 and end Wednesday,
October 12th. The cost is $15. Please see Mrs. Monroe in guidance to
sign up.

The PSAT will take place on October 19th during school.
Over 3.5 million high school students take the National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test, also known as the PSAT each year. This
test helps you prepare for the SAT while determining your eligibility
for a National Merit Scholarship.

SOPHOMORES
The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics is recruiting
sophomores interested in applying to NCSSM. Andrew Huggins from NCSSM
will present to students & their parents October 18th at 1:35 pm in
Forbush High School's Library. He will explain the application
process, SAT requirements, benefits of attending NCSSM, and also
provide his personal insight into this educational opportunity.
Parents ar nvited and encouraged to attend the information session.
Deadline to Sign up is October 13th.

Teachers and staff, an adviser from Grand Canyon University's College of Education will be visiting today in the Teacher's Lounge. They will be providing information regarding Online Programs, Grants/Scholarships, Credit Transfers & Re-certification Courses. Refreshments will also be provided for all staff. Please come down to discuss your educational goals.

​SIGN OUTS TODAY
Students that brought a sign out note this week will sign out at the table outside Cafeteria I in the walkway.​ Students will be handed a Bush Bash pass to show faculty at the gated exists in order to leave campus. No cars will be allowed to leave campus without showing the Bush Bash Pass at the gated drives. Each passenger in the cars exiting the campus must have a Bush Bash Pass.

Students that did not bring a note this week will need a parent to come in to sign students out. Parents signing out students will receive a Bush Bash pass to show faculty at the gated drives.

Tuesday Announcements

JROTC
The Forbush Falcon JROTC Cadets competed in the Elkin High School
drill meet winning 2nd place overall for the entire meet and the
following team events.
First place - Regulation platoon without arms
Second place - Regulation platoon with arms, squad with arms, duet,
Color guard and LET 1 squad with arms.
Third place - Regulation squad without arms and LET 1 squad without arms
Congrats to the JROTC drill team!

Also a "Big Thank You" to our JROTC cadets for cleaning up Falcon Road
and making the drive to our school a pleasant one.

PSAT

COLLEGE TOUR
If you are interested in touring Mars Hill, Western Carolina, and UNC
Asheville on October 11th please bring $35.00 and see Miss Sigmon. The
first 10 students with the money will be the ones that will be going.
We will be chartering a bus to go on tour.

SENIORS
Our Financial Aid Workshop is today, October 4th at 6 pm in
Auditorium. Learn how to apply for college money. If you are planning
to attend college next year and need money to help pay for college,
then you need to attend this workshop. Learn how to apply for
Financial Aid and Scholarships. Parents and students are encourage to
attend together

LIBRARY CARDS
If you filled out a public library card application during our last
homeroom session and have not returned it to our Falcon library,
please get the application to Mrs. Frazier by the end of the day.
